Production Dates: May 8, 9, and 10
In November 2024, we premiered this ASL-infused production to a sold-out house at Little Theatre of Manchester at Cheney Hall. We had an incredible cast and crew of volunteers who made this possible. With the support and guidance of Connecticut Deaf Theatre, we are now growing this concept and are opening auditions for our May production. All cast members will be onstage working together in the roles; callbacks will be necessary to see how the partnerships (voice & ASL) work together and play off each other.
This is a professional opportunity; we are looking for committed individuals of diverse backgrounds to join our team. Teamwork, collaboration, authenticity, and open-mindedness are all values we have as a creative team, and we cannot wait to keep this process moving!
Thank you for your time!
We look forward to watching your videos. Videos MUST be submitted by Friday 3/28. Have fun!!

The Cast Breakdown is as follows:
PROOF by David Auburn
CATHERINE (MID 20’S) A brilliant yet emotionally guarded young woman, Catherine has inherited her father’s mathematical genius but fears she may also share his mental illness. She is deeply introspective, independent, and struggles with self-doubt. Her relationships with Hal and Claire test her ability to trust others and find her own identity.
ROBERT (50’S - 60’S) Once a revolutionary mathematician, Robert’s mind was both his greatest gift and his greatest burden. He is eccentric, loving, and deeply connected to Catherine, but his mental illness led to years of instability. Though deceased, he appears in flashbacks, revealing both his brilliance and his decline.
HAL (LATE 20’S - EARLY 30’S) A dedicated but socially awkward mathematician. A former student of Robert, Hal admires Robert’s work and hopes to make his own mark in the field. He is well-meaning and earnest, but initially skeptical of Catherine’s abilities. As he grows closer to her, he becomes a source of both doubt and validation.
CLAIRE (LATE 20’S - EARLY 30’S) Practical, successful, and protective, Claire is Catherine’s older sister who prioritizes stability and control. She lacks Catherine’s mathematical mind but believes she knows what’s best for her. Though often at odds with Catherine, she ultimately cares deeply and wants to help her move forward.
